Emma, VIRRA running coach

Train with purpose.

Coaching for women who run: built around your physiology, your cycle and your actual life. Not a men's plan with the numbers swapped.

One coach, your goal, and a plan that adapts to the body you woke up in. Tell me where you want to get to and I'll build the way there.

  • The first-timer. Building to your first 5K, properly. No quick fixes, no shame, no app shouting at you.
  • The runner who's back. Returning after time off: injury, baby, burnout, life. Returning, not restarting.
  • The runner with a goal. A specific race, a target time, a distance you've not touched yet.
  • The cycle-conscious runner. Training that shifts with your phases instead of pretending they don't exist.

Meet your coach

Meet your coach

I'm Emma: coach, runner, and the founder of VIRRA. I built VIRRA because every app and plan I trained with was retro-fitted from men's training, as if my physiology was an inconvenience to programme around. Coaching is where that gets personal. One to one, built around your cycle, your fuelling and your real life, with a human who actually answers when you message. No shame culture, no diet talk. Just training that treats your body as capable, because it is.

In her words

“Your cycle isn't something to train around. It's something to train with.”

No tiers to decode. Coaching is one to one and built for you. Here's what's in it, and we'll find the right fit for you on your free intro call.

A plan built around you...

A week-by-week plan for your goal, your fitness and your cycle, never a template. It adapts as your body, your life and your progress change.

Cycle-synced training and fuelling...

Sessions and fuelling that move with your phases, so you push when you're primed and ease off when you need to. No fighting your own physiology.

Fuelling, not dieting...

Practical fuelling built around your training, with zero diet-culture. Eating enough to run well is the whole point.

Strength that supports your running...

Purposeful strength work woven in to make you more powerful and more durable, and to keep you running injury-free.

A coach who answers...

Direct access to me between sessions for the questions, the wobbles and the "is this normal?" moments, with regular check-ins to keep the plan honest.

Built for your real life...

Travel, illness, a rough week, a big life thing: the plan flexes around it. Consistency over perfection, always.

How long do I need to commit to?

Coaching is rolling monthly. No minimum term, no awkward "we miss you" emails. You can pause or cancel anytime, just give us a heads-up before the next billing cycle if you want to stop.

I'm pregnant / postpartum / peri-menopausal / coming back from injury, can you coach me?

Yes. Plans adapt to where your body is, and your body's body, not a textbook's. Pregnancy, postpartum return, peri-menopause and menopause aren't edge cases here; they're part of what female-first coaching actually means. If something needs hands-on rehab from a physio, GP or pelvic-floor specialist, Emma will tell you straight and we'll plan around it.

What if I miss a session, does it mess everything up?

No. Plans flex. A missed long run doesn't undo your training; a heavy week at work doesn't end your block. Emma's job is to adjust the next session, not to make you feel bad about the last one.

Why don't you programme the weights?

Because you know what's heavy for you better than I do. The coaching model where the trainer dictates every kilo of every set isn't how I work, that's their ego, not your training. I programme tempo instead: the speed of each phase of the lift, which controls time under tension. That's the thing actually driving the adaptation. You pick the load that lets you hit the tempo with form. Too easy, go up. Wobbly, go down. You stay in charge.

How is this different from a running app like Runna?

An app gives you a generic plan. Emma gives you a programme built around your body, your cycle, your goal and your real life, and you also get her. Daily comms, real accountability, someone who notices when something's off and asks. Apps don't ask.

Do I need to live near you?

No. Coaching is fully online via Trainerize. Clients run wherever they live; the plan lives in their pocket.

How do I know which tier is right for me?

If you want the most accountability and tempos programmed for you, go Premium. If you want the full coaching setup without tempos programming, go Standard. If you're sorted on training but want nutrition help, go Nutrition. If you genuinely don't know, pick "Not sure" on the enquiry form and Emma will recommend on the free 20-minute call.
